Stop, aim, fire: build reliable VALORANT accuracy.

Riot's official beginner guidance tells players to stop moving before shooting for better accuracy. This practice plan turns that principle into a repeatable sequence without promising instant rank gains.

01 // BASELINE

Remove movement first

Use the Practice Range. Place the crosshair at head height and fire deliberate single shots while completely stationary. Learn the weapon's first-shot behavior before adding another variable.

02 // STOP

Separate movement from firing

Strafe across a target, release the movement key, then fire. Begin slowly enough to feel the sequence. Speed comes after the order is dependable.

03 // RECOVER

Let accuracy reset

Fire a short burst, pause, and repeat. Watch the crosshair or Shooting Error graph where available. The purpose is to recognize when the weapon has recovered—not to memorize one universal rhythm.

A fifteen-minute practice block

  1. Three minutes: stationary single shots at several distances.
  2. Four minutes: left strafe, stop, one shot; then right strafe, stop, one shot.
  3. Three minutes: two- or three-shot bursts with a visible recovery pause.
  4. Three minutes: clear common angles in a custom map while keeping the crosshair near expected head height.
  5. Two minutes: record one weakness for the next session instead of changing every setting.
